Medical Line is quite tough as compared to Engineering Field. A Medical Degree has been never easy. MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) is the most popular and designated degree of doctors. These are the two bachelor degrees in one domain as the Bachelor of Medicine and the Bachelor of Surgery. This is the tradition of United Kingdom and many universities in various countries are following this tradition.

While in the US, both of the degrees are awarded separately as the M.D (Doctor of Medicine) and D.O (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine). It is the only bachelor degree that makes the students eligible to carry the term “doctor” with their name.
The MBBS is an undergraduate degree programme in medical field. It takes the duration of 5.5 years for the completion of the degree. It is very tough to pursue the MBBS course. This course is now in heavy demand by the students after 12th.

Through this course, the students are taught all about the human anatomy, human cytology, medicine, chemistry, pharmaceutical, chemistry, drugs formulation & effect and method of surgery.

Courses & Durations

The MBBS is a 5.5 year (4.5 years academic education + 1 year mandatory internship) UG degree programme leading to the two degrees as Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.

The students, who have cleared the 10+2 examination and they had the Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 12th stream, may go for the MBBS degree course.

    How to get admission into MBBS programme?

  • To get admission into MBBS programme in India, students have to complete their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry & Biology and score minimum 50% marks (40% in the case of reserved category).
  • Student’s age should be between 17 years to 25 years.
  • The given qualification is not enough to get admission into MBBS course, students have to appear for the National Level Examination conducted by the CBSE, New Delhi, i.e. NEET 2021 (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test). Students also apply for AIIMS 2021 & JIPMER 2021 MBBS Entrance Exam to get admission into MBBS programme.
  • From the year 2016, the Supreme Court bans the state level or university level examinations for admission into MBBS & BDS courses.

  • Salary:

    After completing the MBBS degree, every student wants to know how much they will earn. The salary of the MBBS degree holder is depends upon how much knowledge & experience you have. The initial salary of a medical graduate doctor may be the Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 35,000 per month. After getting the experience and good hands on in this field, the candidate may get the handsome salary as 8 to 10 lakh per annum.

    MBBS Admission 2024: Registration Dates, Entrance Exams, Admission Process, Top Colleges

    MBBS Admission 2024 is conducted through the NEET examination. Candidates applying for MBBS Admission 2024 must qualify for the NEET followed by a counselling session. States hold state-level counseling once the NEET results are announced for 85% seats. For the 15% AIQ seats, the counseling is provided by the MCC.

    NTA conducts the NEET exam to offer MBBS Admission 2024. NTA has released the official notification for the NEET 2024, as per which the NEET Exam date is May 05, 2024. Medical colleges offer MBBS Admission only based on NEET scores. AIIMS MBBS Admission 2024 will be done based on the AIQ NEET UG Counselling.

    Candidates must have passed their 10+2 from the Science Stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology/Zoology as compulsory subjects to be eligible for MBBS Admission 2024. As per the revised NEET Eligibility Criteria, NTA has scrapped the upper age limit and has also allowed Biology as an Additional Subject for all candidates seeking MBBS Admission and appearing for the NEET exam to become a doctor.

    MBBS Admission Process 2024

    Step 1:Register for the NEET examination.

    Step 2:Fill up the admission form correctly and upload all the required documents.

    Step 3:Pay the application fee and download the confirmation page.

    Step 4: Download the admit card and appear for the examination.

    Step 5:Finally, depending on the rank, students will be called for counseling and be allotted a college.

    MBBS Admission 2024: Eligibility Criteria

  • Students must have passed the class XII examination from a recognized board.
  • They should also score at least 50% marks in their qualifying examination (for General category students), or 40% for reserved category students
  • Candidates must be at least 17 years old before getting admission and there is no upper age limit.
