The MBBS is a 5.5 year (4.5 years academic education + 1 year mandatory internship) UG degree programme leading to the two degrees as Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.

The students, who have cleared the 10+2 examination and they had the Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 12th stream, may go for the MBBS degree course.
The MBBS is the only course in India to become a medical doctor. The MBBS course contains the basic subjects like physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, anatomy, pharmacology and pathology.

How to get admission into MBBS programme?
Educational Qualification: Completion of 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects, achieving a minimum of 50% marks (40% for reserved categories).
Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the admission year. There is no upper age limit for NEET 2025.
Entrance Examination: Aspiring students are required to appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2025, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). NEET is the sole entrance examination for MBBS and BDS admissions across India, including institutions like AIIMS and JIPMER.
Admission Process: Since 2016, the Supreme Court of India has mandated that all admissions to MBBS and BDS courses be conducted exclusively through NEET, eliminating state-level or university-specific entrance exams.
After completing the MBBS degree, every student wants to know how much they will earn. The salary of the MBBS degree holder is depends upon how much knowledge & experience you have. The initial salary of a medical graduate doctor may be the Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 35,000 per month. After getting the experience and good hands on in this field, the candidate may get the handsome salary as 8 to 10 lakh per annum.
MBBS Admission 2025 is conducted through the NEET examination. Candidates applying for MBBS Admission 2025 must qualify for the NEET followed by a counselling session. States hold state-level counseling once the NEET results are announced for 85% seats. For the 15% AIQ seats, the counseling is provided by the MCC.
NTA conducts the NEET exam to offer MBBS Admission 2025. NTA has released the official notification for the NEET 2025, as per which the NEET Exam date is May 05, 2025. Medical colleges offer MBBS Admission only based on NEET scores. AIIMS MBBS Admission 2025 will be done based on the AIQ NEET UG Counselling.
Candidates must have passed their 10+2 from the Science Stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology/Zoology as compulsory subjects to be eligible for MBBS Admission 2025. As per the revised NEET Eligibility Criteria, NTA has scrapped the upper age limit and has also allowed Biology as an Additional Subject for all candidates seeking MBBS Admission and appearing for the NEET exam to become a doctor.
