The Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi is a government medical college affiliated to University of Delhi. It is named after the great educationist Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. The medical college offers the graduate/post graduate/residency degrees of MBBS, MS, MD and fellowship degrees of M.Ch and DM. It caters to 290 undergradtuate students, 245 post graduate and post doctoral students per year being trained by 426 faculty members and 810 resident doctors. The college is constantly ranked among the best medical institutes of the country.

Getting into Maulana Azad Medical College

Candidates seeking admission to MAMC must qualify National Eligibility Cum Entrance (NEET 2020) conducted by CBSE. Apart from AIIMS and JIPMER, NEET is the only medical entrance examination conducted in India for UG admissions. It is necessary for a candidate to score a minimum of 50% aggregate (40% in case of SC/ST and OBC candidates) in NEET 2020 to become eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS programs.

Eligibility to apply for MAMC MBBS exam 2020

  • Candidates who wish to apply for the said exam must be an Indian National.
  • The candidates must have completed 17 years of age as or on December 31, 2020. The upper age limit is 25 years however, there’s a relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC.
  • Candidates must have passed/appeared in 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry Biology/Bio-technology and English as compulsory subjects in class 11th and 12th from recognized schools conducting regular classes situated with Delhi-NCR only.
  • The candidates must have passed the above mentioned examination in all subjects.
  • Candidates who have passed class 12th examination from school of open learning are not eligible to apply to MAMC.
  • Admission procedure MAMC

    Admission at MAMC is strictly based on the merit list of candidates belonging to different categories is released by Faculty of Medicine and Sciences, Delhi University. Only when the seats are left vacant after preparing the merit list of Delhi NCR candidates, desirable candidates belonging from outside Delhi are taken into consideration.

    MAMC reservation policy

    The distribution of seats is as per Delhi University Norms.
  • 15% of seats are filled in through the entrance examination conducted by the C.B.S.E. on All India basis.
  • 85% of total seats are filled in through the Delhi University Norms.
  • 6 seats are reserved for Government of India nominees.
  • OBC - 27%, SC - 17%, SC - 7.5%
